The Bilingual Connection has two areas of interest, firstly we organise a trip to Ireland during the Spring holidays (Vacances de Printemps) for students to improve their English, those attending already have a reasonable level of English. We also organise personalised trips for schools, both private and public, who wish to send their students abroad during term time (on Classe Verte). During this trip they will get the opportunity to practise their current language skills and broaden their vocabulary base at the same time. They do this through a full immersion course where all activities take place in English with EMT teachers. They also take part in a number of cultural events during their stay and linked visits to local schools.

Cate O'Connor set up The Bilingual Connection in October 2011 while in Paris. Cate has a B. Ed.(with French) from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. She taught for in Ireland for 2 years before heading to France, where she joined the staff of EABJM International School for 3 years. There she taught a range of subjects including English, Science, Music and Art to children aged 4-16. In 2006 Cate set up her own school in Paris, called The Roaming Schoolhouse, which provided Afterschool Lessons for Bilingual children and Day Camps during the school holidays. She returned to Ireland in June 2012 and continues to bring French students to Ireland every year. In September 2013 Cate opened Join the Dots Afterschool in Cork City for primary school children, where not only do the students receive excellent quality homework supervision from qualified teachers, they also get an opportunity to take part in activities including Drama, Arts & Crafts and of course are introduced to a foreign language and its related culture in a positive and fun manner.
